Meet the Founder

I started in home improvement as the son of intrepid DIY’ers that spent most three-day weekends building decks, painting, or landscaping. At fifteen I found my first paying gig as a summer laborer on a nearby framing crew. Since then, I have always worked in building in some form. My experience includes a civil engineering degree from Virginia Tech and license as a professional engineer, design and project management on municipal water and sewer systems, construction of a modest project in Sudan using compressed earth blocks, and multiple light frame building and remodeling projects.
